About the Photographer

Kalim's Photography career literally began prior to his first child's birth. His first camera arrived the day of his wife's labor. After getting that phone call to come home and head for the hospital, he first hurriedly opened the package and then left for the hospital. As one can tell, he hasn't stopped creating images since. His work has appeared nationally and statewide while serving the Associated Press Wire, USA Today, New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer and countless others. Full time, Kalim is also a staff photographer with the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in Harrisburg. Kalim has traveled extensively in the United States and abroad, including Spain, Norway, United Kingdom, Morocco, Germany and East Africa.

Pictured at left is the home Kalim left in Kenya, East Africa. Seeing his childhood home after 30 years was amazing and equally frustrating." I barely recognized the surroundings, a third floor had been added along with a building to the right. The driveway leading up to the apartment seemed so much shorter and the walls around the complex had grown over 10 feet high, due to crime."
